Serbian Trumpet Festival is well known as one of the biggest and most
popular cultural and artificial manifestations of original and ethnic
activities, especially the Serbian Trumpet. The Festival has been held
since 1961 and every year in August since then, it is held in Gucha
(Dragachevo, Western Serbia).
First Festival had just four participants as Trumpet Orchestras. Recently,
there were about a hundred orchestras at opening ceremonies of the Festival
and just forty of them took part in the finals, divided into twenty
seniors' and twenty juniors' orchestras.
Self-taught artists  such as painters, artists of antiquated crafts and hand
made products and sculptors have their own exhibitions. The books of the
Festival are shown there. Ethnic and historical exhibitions are presented
too. Best Pledge speakers of Toast and most beautiful national costume are elected at the Festival. Various sports games, biathlon, mainly national ones, such as shooting through apple, jumping, throwing stones and similar games are also held there. National music artists, and folk's groups assemble from all parts of Serbia taking part at the Program   Dancing and Singing Groups also take part. Guests of the Festival are Trumpet groups , singing and dancing groups from Diaspora and from other European, American, and this year, even from African countries.

The improvisation of the traditional Dragachevo wedding is a part of this
attractive Festival. First, they organize mass wedding for those newlyweds
who are interested in the ceremony. Then, on Sunday, an improvised
Dragachevo wedding by 19th century is performed. At Final competition which
is under the control of competent people including audience. The best
trumpeters get the rank of Dragachevo winners. Those people become qualified
to take part in many host and world festivals. Festival's programmes visit
more than a thousand competitors and hundred and  thousands of visitors.
Journalists are there also, and the Festival is televised on numerous TV
channels, different magazines from all round the world are also shown. For Dragachevo citizens the Festival is a very important jubilee. They are
very good hosts. They accept both old and new friends in their homes. People
from Dragachevo prepare various kinds of national foods and dishes, such as
wedding cabbage, lots of meat, and domestic cheese and soon. They do not
forget to offer a very famous drink, called "slivovitza". To sample all
those foods and drinks visitors can get in numerous tents that are set up
there for their enjoyment.

AND TODAY …THE FINAL COMPETITION

        The final competition of the 48th Festival will take place at the main stage of the stadium ,today at three o'clock in the afternoon (15.00 CET).The proclamation of the winners is expected at app. 19.00 and will be directly broadcasted by the national television network RTS directly.

AND YESTERDAY...

Competition of young trumpeters

        On the fourth competition of pioneer brass bands (age of 15) the best orchestra is the one of Vladimir Ivanovic from Zaguzanje.

The best trumpeter ,in the category of pioneers is Petar Milicevic from Kostojevici  .

On the twelveth  competition in the category of youth orchestras (age of 22) the best orchestra is the one of Mijo Bondzulic from Lunovo selo,the second was the orchestra of  «Ethno art»from Kostunici (The Bandleader Marko Trnavac)and the third was the orchestra of Zeljko Jovkovic  from Mrselji.

The best trumpeter in the category of young orchestras is Kristijan Azirovic from Bojnik,the second is  Bratislav Andjelkovic from Lepenica  and the third is  Ivan Jovanovic from Uzice.

 PROPOSALS OF TOASTS,NATIONAL COSTUMES …

        Among the eight competitors ,the best toast was proposed by Miodrag Sibinovic from Knjazevac(who was the last year’s winner ,too),and the special award was given to the  girl called Vanja Dobrosavljevic from Guca for cherishing of the national tradition .

About twenty competitors strolled across  the stage in national costumes and the most beautiful costumes,according to the marks of the jury had Marija Mitrovic and Milan Dukic from Guca (costumes from Sumadia)and Aleksandra Dumitraskovic from Negotin(maiden’s Vlach costume ).

THE FOURTH PRESS CONFERENCE

            On the fourth press conference for journalists of the 48th Festival,all present journalists were welcomed by The manager of the center for culture ,sport and tourism  of the municipality of Lucani «Dragacevo»Guca Mr Adam Tadic who shared with the present his ipressions about yesterday's events.He  informed  that we have five new participants of the final competition :

•Stojan Krstic from Lepenica

 •Bojan Krstic  from Vladicin han 

•Slobodan Salijevic  from Prekodolce

•Bozidar Nikolic Donjo  from Grdelica

•Miroljub Miro Kremic  from Gostinica

He informed journalists that two concerts were held :the concert of foreign brass bands and the concert of Boban Markovic (Impressions of Mr Adam Tadic,who saw that on the national TV network, are fantastic).

He recommended to all present to watch the great Festival parade with about 70 groups and over 1000 of participants ,as well as the other festival program contents for that day ,including the midnight concert.

Mr.Mile Ristic ,Manager of the Marketing agency “Profile”, Belgrade pointed out the promotion of Guca in the aim to be the capital of trumpet and one of the leading brands ,which Guca, in a way, already is .

Ahter him spoke Mr.Mirjan Kulovec ,The Chairman of the Board of Kolpa –JSC (Joint Stock Company ).He said that people from fis company decided to make cooperation with the Festival on the 30th anniversary of the company and presume that  this cooperation could be potentially, mutually useful.

In today’s press conference also, veterans of the festival .Mr.Aleksa Protic ,one of the first organizers of the festival and Mr.Jovisa Slavkovic ,a former Manager of the Culture hall in Guca.

Thelast,fidth in a raw ,press conference is predicted for today at 13.00 with the participation of representatives of the Government of The Republic of Serbia and the local authorities.

About 100 buses with 5000 guests arrived toGuca from Jagodina,Serbia. From the Police department ,Guca we were informed that in the last 24 hours, there was no serious disturbance of law or order in any sense.From the First Aid  Dr. Suluburic  gave the information that there were 87 interventions during the night,35on the field and 52 in the First Aid centre. One patient is transported to Cacak ,due to the nature of his injury ,but his life is not seriously endangered Mr. Aleksandar Nisavic  from The Serbian Hydrometeorology Institute gave the following weather forecast :sunny and warm , with the maximum temperature of 250 C-260 C,with a weak north-west wind..More information about the weather on www.hydmet.sr.gov.yu From the Serbian Association of Drivers and Help on the road ,we received the information that all roads to Guca are in order and available ,only at the entrance to  Guca are expected long lines of cars. Careful driving is recommended because of the  increased traffic intensivity.
